Regarding Caesareans…- Shaykh ibn ‘Uthaymeen rahimahullaah

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

I would like to take this opportunity to point out a phenomenon that has been mentioned to us, which is that many obstetricians, male and female, in the hospitals are too keen for birth to take place by surgical means, which is known as a Caesarean. I am afraid that this may be a plot against the Muslims, because the more births take place in this manner, the more the skin of the abdomen is weakened and pregnancy becomes more dangerous for the woman, and she becomes unable to get pregnant. Some of the people who work in private hospitals have told me that many women come to the hospitals and their specialists tell them that there is no alternative to a caesarean, then they go to this private hospital and give birth naturally. He mentioned that there were about eighty such cases in one month. This means that the issue is serious, and attention must be drawn to it. It should be noted that in this case some pain and exhaustion is inevitable.
“His mother bears him with hardship. And she brings him forth with hardship”
[al-Ahqaaf 46:15]

It is not something to be done as soon as the woman feels a contraction, so that she may avoid pain. Natural childbirth is better than a caesarean. End quote.

The Shaykh (may Allaah have mercy on him) was also asked:

Allaah says in Soorat ‘Abasa (interpretation of the meaning):

“Then He makes the Path easy for him”
[‘Abasa 80:20]

So Allaah guarantees to make it easy for this newborn. Many men and women have noticed that there is haste in performing caesarean sections. Is this a sign of weak trust in Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted?

He replied:

I think that this method which people use nowadays when the woman feels the contractions and goes to the hospital, and they do a caesarean section for her, I think that this is inspired by the shaytaan, and that the harm caused is far greater than any benefits, because a woman is bound to feel pain when in labour, but this pain has a number of benefits:

1 – It is an expiation for sin
2 – It raises her in status if she is patient and seeks reward.
3 – The woman understands the extent of the pain suffered by other mothers.
4 – She will appreciate the extent of the blessing of good health that Allaah bestows on her.
5 – It will increase her love towards her child, because the more difficult it is to attain something, the dearer it becomes.
6 – If the child is born by via the usual, well-known route, this is better for him and the woman.
7 – Damage may be expected from this surgery, because this operation weakens the wall of the uterus etc, which may tear. And it may be successful or unsuccessful.
8 – The woman who gets used to having caesareans is unlikely to give birth in the natural manner, because that is not possible, and there is the risk that the site of the surgery may rupture.
9 – Having surgery results in having fewer children, because if the abdomen is cut three times in different places, it becomes weak and future pregnancy becomes dangerous.
10 – This is a kind of luxury, and luxury is a thing that leads to doom, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury…”
[al-Waaqi’ah 56:45]

Women should be patient and seek reward, and should continue to give birth in the natural way, because that is better for them in this world and in the Hereafter. Men should also pay attention to this issue, for we do not know, perhaps our enemies are the ones who have made these operations easy for us so that we will lose these benefits and be subject to these losses.

Question: What is meant by luxury?

Answer: Luxury includes avoiding the natural pain of childbirth. This is a kind of luxury. If luxury does not help one to obey Allaah, then it is either blameworthy or at the very least permissible.

(Hadeeth) – A Warning to those who see an Evil but Remain Silent about it

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) warned us:
مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي، ثُمَّ يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْ يُغَيِّرُوا، ثُمَّ لَا يُغَيِّرُوا، إِلَّا يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَعُمَّهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِعِقَابٍ
“There is no group of people among whom evil deeds are done in their midst, and they do not change (the evil, by forbidding it) when they are capable, except that they are on the verge of being punished by Allaah collectively.”
[Aboo Daawood #4338, Saheeh]

Shaikh Rabee’ ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee WRITING ‘Ya Allaah & Ya Muhammad’!!! A MUST READ!

WRITING ‘Ya Allaah & Ya Muhammad’!!! A MUST READ!

Shaikh Rabee’ ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee

Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

The Question: A lot of what we see in certain Masajid is ‘Ya Allaah & Ya Muhammad’ (O Allaah & O Muhammad) written on the Mihrab, is it permissible to pray in the likes of these

The answer: This is clear from what we have seen in Pakistan and Afghanistan – with great regret – I swear by Allaah we saw this written in the cars of the Mujahideen; actually those who claim to be Mujahideen! And they would not accept any advice, they would continue upon these aspects of Shirk! You would see it written in their shops and their Masajid: ‘Ya Allaah, Ya Ali, Ya Ghawth, Ya Hussain, Ya AbdulQadir, Ya such and such!!’ as well as other aspects of Shirk!

Seeking aid from other than Allaah is Shirk; by saying ‘Ya Muhammad’, then this is committing Shirk with Allaah (associating partners to Allaah). Muhammad was the Messenger of Allaah, the slave of Allaah and His Messenger alayhi as-Sallat wa Sallam. Therefore, if one says ‘Ya Allaah and Ya Muhammad’, then that person has made Muhammad as an equal to Allaah Tabaraka wa Ta’ala.

The Messenger alayhi as-Sallat wa Sallam did not come except to destroy this polytheism, and to rectify the deviated nation and at the head of what they had was committing Shirk (associating) with Allaah -Azza wa Jal. The Messenger came to purify the Dunyaa, the hearts, the minds and intellects from Shirk with Allaah Azza wa Jal and the filth connected with Shirk.

He alayhi as-Sallat WA Sallam taught us pure Tawheed with the texts of the Qur’aan, the texts of the Sunnah and practically implementing them. He alayhi as-Sallat wa Sallam ordered us to level the graves, and to destroy idols.

The Messenger alayhi as-Sallat wa Sallam said:

‘Do not undertake journeys except to three Masajid – only these, not to graves, nor any place [for worship] – the Masjid al-Haraam, and this masjid of mine, and Masjid al-Aqsa.’

This is because these Masajid were built by the Prophets for the Tawheed of Allaah having Ikhlaas (Sincerity) of the Deen for Allaah Azza wa Jal.

This action of writing ‘Allaah & Muhammad’ began in al-Madinah – since we know these things we can evaluate it – we knew the plots of the Ahl-ul-Bida’.

There was a man named Siraaj Rahman a colleague of mine in the University and he was from the students of Abul-Hasan an-Nadawi – I don’t know whether – I saw this in Kenya or a story had been narrated to him that this had begun to spread in al-Madinah. Anyway, he mentioned that Abul-Hasan an-Nadawi said the statement: ‘Allaah & Muhammad’ and this is disbelief, what they mean by this is that Muhammad is a partner to Allaah –Azza wa Jal; Allaah & Muhammad are equal.

There is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah; I testify that there is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah and I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah, I testify that there is none worthy of worship in truth except Allaah and I testify that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger; this is the highest status for this Noble Prophet alayhi as Sallat wa Sallam.

The Messenger sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam said:

‘Do not over praise me, like the Christians over praised the son of Maryam. Indeed I am a slave of Allaah and His Messenger.’

I have seen this clearly and I would have waged war against it, and if I saw it in a Masjid I would advise the Imam of the Masjid. Likewise in Masjid al-Qiblatayn – Masjid al-Amoodi -, I spoke to the Imam, but he did not do anything! So I spoke to al-Amoodi who was responsible for the Masjid, and he hastened – may Allaah reward him with goodness- and effaced these things.

And in the Masjid near my home in al-Madina they had written ‘Allaah & Muhammad’ so I advised the Imam and he said: ‘we will change it, we will change it.’ But he kept postponing it and did not change it! There was a good young man present who said: ‘I’ll sort it out.’ Then he went and covered it, and that was the end of that, and all praise be to Allaah.

One day I was coming from Batthan and entered Madinah and there was a pickup truck in front of me and it had ‘Ya Allaah Ya Muhammad’ written on it in red. So I followed him and he began speeding up, he noticed that I was following him, so he began to speed up even more, so I gave chase and pursued him until we reached Qurban, he stopped his car and got out and said to me: ‘Shall I wipe it off?’ and I hadn’t even spoken to him yet! He knew and felt this is what I was pursuing him about, so I told him ‘Yes, wipe it off.’

This confirms that there is a battle going on, the battle of these grave worshipping deviants in the land of Tawheed!

“It is a very few number of people that do not fall into shirk ul-asghar (minor shirk). For this reason, the messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) taught us a dua with which we supplicate, and it is:

‘Allaahumma ‘a’oothu bika an ushrika bika wa ana ‘a’lamu, wa ‘a’oothu bika minnash-shirkillathi laa ‘a’lamu.’ ‘O Allaah I seek refuge in You from associating partners with you whilst knowing, and I seek refuge in You from associating partners unknowingly.’

And memorisation of it is a must.”

Shaykh al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah ta’ala): “There is no Flattery Concerning the Truth”

Shaykh al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah ta’ala): “There is no Flattery Concerning the Truth”

Shaykh Dr. Saalih al-Fawzaan, may Allaah protect him, said after listening to a question about Muhammad al-‘Areefee, may Allaah guide him:

My brother, myself, the people of knowledge and other than myself refute those who have infractions, and they clarify the mistake. Their aim in this is not the person, nor to belittle his status, nor to detract from his personality. They don’t intend these things. We seek refuge with Allah from this. The intent is to clarify the truth.

So if a person makes a mistake, there is no deterrent from clarifying his mistake, and this is not something that subtracts from his worth. Rather, this is a notification for him and an aid for him in returning to the truth.

Thus, he benefits, and the reader and listener [to the rebuttal] benefit. The mistake is not left to circulate amongst the people, and there is no flattery in this affair. It is a must to clarify the truth and to make it clear. There is no flattery concerning the truth.

And this does not harm the one being refuted if he is from those who are levelheaded, those who seek the truth. However, if he doesn’t desire the truth, and he wants to give victory to his desires, then we can’t do anything about that. (1)
